Come join a winning tradition! The Darien YMCA is once again teaming up with the Darien High School Wrestling team to bring to you our exciting youth wrestling program. The program will be instructed by Darien High School Veteran Head Coach Joe Vano. His staff will consist of his Assistant Varsity Coach Aidan Gaffney and the Blue Wave wrestlers.
Our experienced and trained coaching staff will teach the basic skills needed to gain insight into the rapidly growing sport of wrestling. Their knowledge and expertise will help young wrestlers learn, develop, and understand the concept of healthy competition. This program will focus on strengthening each individuals confidence, self-esteem, agility, and coordination.
All participants in Grades 3 through 8 are welcome. No prior wrestling experience is required. Basic wrestling skills will be taught to all new comers. Experienced wrestlers will be taught advanced wrestling skills. There will be an opportunity for matches and tournaments with other wrestlers of the same age, weight, and experience. Sneakers and shorts are the required attire.

Members - $235 Non-Members $285
Price includes $35 charge so that the wrestlers can be certified and recieve their USA Wrestling card.
Wrestling offers the opportunity for kids to develop more self-confidence and self-reliance than one might get from a team sport. Participants will learn the importance of individual one-on-one competition, while training with others and building life-long friendships. Youth who participate in a wrestling program stand to benefit physically by gaining:

- Body awareness
- Strength
- Endurance
